Is Pulp's "Common People" the best song of the Brit Pop era? I reckon it could be.
Jarvis came up with the tune on a small keyboard he'd bought from the a second hand record shop in west London. When he played it at rehearsals to the other members of the band the next day most of them were unimpressed.
He then wrote the lyrics inspired by his time at Saint Martin's. Pulp first performed Common People at the 1994 Reading Festival. In a later interview, Jarvis revealed that he had written the majority of the lyrics the night before the band's performance, and he had trouble remembering them on stage the following day.
Printed on 250 gsm matt paper this Pulp Common People poster is available in five size and three frame colour options, black, white and wood.
The frames we use are made from solid wood, sourced from a sustainable forest.
