After Manchester's Twisted Wheel closed early in 1971, Stoke's Golden Torch wore the Northern Soul crown for the next few years.
However, it became a victim of its own success, with regular police presences, drug-taking and overcrowding. When the club came to renew its licence on 16 March 1973, Stoke-on-Trent council refused the renewal and the club simply faded away.
The record featured in the print was chosen because Major Lance is featured on the only live album recorded at the venue, described by people who were there as one of THE defining Northern Soul gigs.
Printed on 250 gsm matt paper the poster is available in four size and three frame colour options, black, white and wood.
The frames we use are made from solid wood, sourced from a sustainable forest.
