Released in 1987, 'True Faith' came out at a time when tensions we're riding high in the band. Whilst Bernard, Stephen and Gillian were happy pursuing their more 'dancey' direction, bassist Peter Hook preferred their older sound and admitted that at this particular time in the band's history he was struggling to get any of his bass lines actually ON the records.
