Taken from Reed's second solo album, 'Transformer', 'Walk On The Wild Side' describes the journey to New York City of several of the regular "superstars" at Andy Warhol's New York studio, the Factory.The ubiquitous bass line was composed and played by Herbie Flowers. He was paid a £17 flat fee for his work (equivalent to £200 today).
